01What we do

Manufacturing of complex-geometry components through simultaneous machining.

On the OKUMA MU-5000V the tool is oriented relative to the part while it cuts. This gives us access to almost every face in a single set-up, lets us use shorter, stiffer tools and keeps the same reference throughout the process.

We program every tool path in Siemens NX CAM and simulate it before it reaches the machine, so the first cut is already a reliable one.

Key points

  1. 01

    Fewer set-ups

We machine several faces without removing the part, reducing repositioning errors.

  2. 02

    Shorter tools

Tilting the tool allows shorter lengths, with less vibration and a better finish.

  3. 03

    Complex surfaces

Free-form shapes, undercuts and cavities that would be out of reach on 3 axes.

  4. 04

    Single reference

Every operation starts from the same origin, improving geometric consistency.

Typical applications

  • Housings and bodies machined on several faces
  • Impellers, blades and free-form surfaces
  • Brackets and structural parts with compound angles
  • Complex fixtures and tooling
